Shortly after Hurricane Hugo ravaged the Lowcountry in September 1989, it was very difficult for builders to get materials and labor in the Charleston market. Builder Harold Noland of Hidden Oaks construction had to source several of his own materials for his projects including carpet directly from Dalton, GA. Out of these efforts, Harold’s wife Chris Noland eventually founded Designer Carpets, Inc. in 1996. She started out in a small showroom on Johns Island servicing Interior Designers and Custom Home Builders primarily on the barrier islands of Kiawah and Seabrook. Current owner Trey Davis purchased the business in 2004 and moved to its current location. Trey added hardwood flooring, LVT, and rubber floor lines to go along with the existing unique high-end wool, sisal, seagrass carpets already being offered. We also carry all major synthetic brands from rental grade to higher-end nylons. We now service the entire Charleston/Lowcountry area in both Residential and Commercial projects. We have completed many high-end residential projects in the Charleston area in hardwood refinishing, LVP, LVT, prefinished wood floors, wall to wall carpeting, custom stair runners and custom area rugs. We have also completed commercial projects such as high-end restaurants, multiple room hotel renovations, office buildings, churches, schools, etc. Designer Carpets has been involved in the Charleston community over the years with projects benefiting Sea Islands Habitat For Humanity, Save The Light (Morris Island) Auction, Citadel auctions, and many local school auctions and athletic team sponsorships.
